Worried about the rising cases of drug abuse among Nigerian youth The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has commenced a major crusade on drug abuse in Lagos State.

The campaign, which is part of the agency’s Anti- Drug Abuse Campaign, is aimed at sensitising and enlightening the people on the dangers of inappropriate drug use, particularly codeine.

The Acting Director General Surulere Local Council Development Area, LCDA l, Mrs Yetunde Oni spoke at the launch of the campaign to youths, market women and drivers lamenting that the abuse of codeine among youths has become worrisome.

Oni, who was represented by the agency’s Chief Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Christiana Obiazikwor, urged youths to desist from inappropriate use of drugs.
